David Cook Wins American Idol Season 7

Simon Cowell prcatically declared David Archuleta the winner of American Idol season 7 during the final two perormance last night. America disagreed, and instead crowned David Cook the winner of this year’s competition.

And by a wide margin, according to Ryan Seacrest at the start of the star-studded two-hour finale. he says one David got 56 percent while the other David 44 percent of the record 97.5 million audience votes cast by phone and text. Now we know that it was Archuleta who got knocked out, not Cook, by 12 million votes.

Somehow, I got the feeling that Simon bashed Cook intentionally last night because he wants the 25-year-old rocker to win. Remember when he apologized to Carly Smithson for praising her the night she was eliminated. The acerbic judge did the Cook-bashing on purpose, I’m perfectly certain now.

Now we’ll have to wait another eight months before we get to see American Idol again. Hopefully, there would be some changes, as promised, and I could only hope the departure of useless judges (you know who) would be one of them.
